Nilang Soni

Nilang Soni is an Articling Student with a broad academic and practical background in public and private law, both in Canada and internationally speaking a wide range of languages including Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Urdu. 

A graduate of the University of Toronto’s Global Professional Master of Laws (GPLLM) program, Nilang brings a global perspective to legal practice, with particular interest in litigation, constitutional law, administrative law, and criminal defence.

Nilang holds a B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) with Distinction from Karnavati University, where he graduated with top academic honours, specializing in intellectual property law. He has completed internships at the Supreme Court of India, the High Court of Gujarat, and various prominent legal chambers, gaining hands-on experience in appellate litigation, government advisory work, and complex legal research.

Prior to articling, Nilang contributed to several high-profile legal offices, including the chambers of Hon’ble Justice Bela Trivedi and Justice J.B. Pardiwala. He has also served in leadership roles during law school and worked as a student fundraiser at the University of Toronto, where he helped raise over $50,000 for scholarships and programs.

Nilang is deeply passionate about the intersection of law, philosophy, and policy, and is particularly interested in the evolving dynamics of international law, employment and tech regulation, and access to justice.
